Renegotiating Your Destiny Through Prayer by Rev Stephen Akinola
Why We Pray
Some have asked the question “Why do we need to pray?” The answer is simple but powerful. God Almighty in his infinite and inexplicable mercies and love for humanity desires a Divine -Human partnership. Through God could do without us, He has chosen not to do without us but has called us into fellowship and partnership with himself hence the indispensable necessity to pray. Through prayer, we become partners and co-laborers with God in working His wonders and miracles.
Types Of Prayer
There are different types of prayer. As different types of food meet diverse needs in the body, so different types of prayer meet different needs that we may encounter. Yet we also supplicate; still, we bind and lose; more still, we groan with words which cannot be uttered, etc. All these work by one and the selfsame Spirit, as He wills. When the heavens are shut up over the Christians, there is a type of prayer appropriate for that situation in the word of God. When evil men sit on the throne, God wants and expects a different form of prayer from His people.
When Satan, demons, evil spirits and devils harass the lives of Christians, their loved ones and neighbours God also expects a different form of prayer.
