Renegotiating Your Destiny Through Prayer by Rev Stephen Akinola
Rev Stephen Akinola is a founder / General Overseer, Redemption Ministries, Worldwide.
Prayer is the offering up of our desires to God for all things lawful and needful with humble confidence that we shall obtain them through the mediation of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you [a]ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14, NKJV)
The key word in Prayer is relationship. Prayer will bring things from the realm of the supernatural into physical manifestation. Prayer is worship addressed to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Prayer is the soul of man talking to God.
In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. – Matthew 6:9
Prayer is sweet communion with God. It is an intimate fellowship with God.
So the Lord went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place. – Genesis 18:33
Prayer is asking and receiving from God in the Spirit and simplicity of sonship. Prayer is pouring our hearts to God in the liberty and license of sonship, and in the confidence and consciousness of relationship.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
26 “But when the [a]Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. John 15:7, 26
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. – 1 John 3:22
Prayer is a powerful, potent and devastating force, which when a believer employs, brings home the victory and rolls away tears, sorrows, sadness, discouragement and all forms of oppression. It is the only thing and the greatest thing the Bible enjoins should be done without ceasing.(1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer is the hand that moves the hand that moves the world.
To pray is to depend on God. When we pray we enlist God and all the hosts of heaven in a warfare against the kingdom of darkness. To leave out Prayer is to depend on flesh. Prayers could be done on bended knees and tear-filled eyes, asking the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking diligently for solution through counsel of the Holy Spirit, and knocking with importunity, in the energy of the third person of the trinity. God is waiting to answer and to restore all that the thief has stolen, to receive all that he has killed, and to re-create all that Satan has destroyed. Hallelujah! Prayer is power!!
