Pastor Jim Cymbala and his wife, Carol continue to serve as senior pastors of The Brooklyn Tabernacle and have been blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
James R. Cymbala (born 1942) is an American author and pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle. He is also a former college basketball player, serving on the teams for the United States Naval Academy and the University of Rhode Island.
The Brooklyn Tabernacle choir is almost 300 strong under the leadership of Carol Cymbala as the choir director. The choir sings at services each Sunday in the 4,000-seat former Loew’s Metropolitan theater in Downtown Brooklyn. After 25 years of recording and live performances, the Lord continues to use the Choir to carry the message of the Gospel around the world. It is a highly unlikely ensemble, a mixture of ethnic and economic backgrounds, in the heart of a city synonymous with coldness and decay.
